Knowledge layer
Clinical-tech glossary, in both languages.
One shared vocabulary for clinicians, distributors, agents and administrators. Every entry is educational and stays inside each manufacturer's declared intended use — no clinical claims, no regulatory implications.

Body composition & assessment
- Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA)
- A measurement method that estimates body composition by passing a low, safe electrical current through the body and measuring the resistance different tissues offer.
- Anovator devices use segmental multi-frequency measurement. Results are assessment indicators, not diagnoses.
- ECW/TBW ratio
- The proportion of extracellular water to total body water. It is used as a fluid-balance indicator and interpreted only by qualified professionals.
- Multi-frequency measurement
- Using several electrical frequencies in the same measurement so intracellular and extracellular water can be estimated separately.
- Phase angle
- A derived value from impedance measurement often described in literature as a general cellular-integrity indicator. Interpretation is clinical and context dependent.
- Segmental analysis
- Reporting results per body segment (right arm, left arm, trunk, right leg, left leg) instead of a single whole-body value.
- Skeletal muscle mass (SMM)
- The estimated mass of muscle attached to the skeleton, commonly tracked to follow training, rehabilitation or nutritional programs over time.
- Visceral fat indicator
- An estimated indicator of fat located around the abdominal organs, reported as a relative index rather than an absolute measurement.
Rehabilitation robotics
- Body-weight support
- A harness or frame mechanism that carries part of the patient's weight so movement practice can start earlier and more safely.
- End-effector system
- A robotic design where the device contacts the patient at one distal point (for example the foot plate) rather than strapping to each joint.
- Exoskeleton
- A wearable robotic structure aligned to the patient's joints that guides or assists movement of specific segments.
- Gait training
- Structured practice of walking patterns, often with partial body-weight support and guided repetition, as part of a supervised rehabilitation program.
- Neuroplasticity
- The nervous system's capacity to reorganize connections in response to repeated, task-specific practice. Frequently cited as the rationale for high-repetition therapy.
- Range of motion (ROM)
- The measured span of movement available at a joint, commonly recorded before and after a rehabilitation cycle.
Advanced wound care
- Allograft
- Tissue obtained from a human donor and processed for clinical use, regulated under tissue-specific frameworks.
- Amniotic membrane
- A placental-derived tissue product processed for wound coverage applications under donor-tissue regulations.
- Collagen dressing
- A dressing category formulated with collagen, used within a wound management plan defined by the treating clinician.
- Debridement
- The clinical removal of non-viable tissue from a wound, performed by qualified personnel as part of wound bed preparation.
- Platelet-rich plasma (PRP)
- An autologous preparation concentrated from the patient's own blood. Its preparation and use are governed by local regulations and clinical protocols.
- Skin substitute
- A category of products intended to provide temporary or permanent coverage of a wound bed. Product selection is always a clinician decision.
Digital health
- Audit trail
- An immutable log of who accessed or changed a record and when, used for accountability and compliance review.
- EHR / EMR
- Electronic health record / electronic medical record: the system of record for patient documentation in a care organization.
- Interoperability
- The ability of two systems to exchange data in a usable form, commonly using standards such as HL7 or FHIR.
- PHI
- Protected health information: identifiable health data subject to privacy and security safeguards.
- AOR public marketing systems do not process PHI. Clinical documentation stays inside the customer's own environment.
Regulatory & quality
- CE marking
- A conformity marking indicating that a product meets the applicable European Union requirements for its category.
- Content status
- AOR's internal label for every published claim: verified (official source on file) or pending verification (not yet confirmed).
- Intended use
- The manufacturer's declared purpose for a product. Any communication about the product must stay within this declared scope.
- ISO 13485:2016
- The international standard for quality management systems specific to medical device organizations.
- Certificates held by ecosystem manufacturers are listed with issuer, scope and validity in the verification center.
Commercial & distribution
- Distribution agreement
- The contract defining territory, scope, obligations and duration between AOR and a distribution partner.
- Request for quotation (RFQ)
- A structured request that starts the commercial process. AOR works on a quotation basis; no public price lists are published.
- RMA
- Return merchandise authorization: the controlled process for returning or servicing equipment under warranty terms.
- Service level agreement (SLA)
- The committed response and resolution times for support and service requests, tracked in the partner portal.
- Territory
- The defined geographic scope assigned to a partner, tracked in the partner portal with its current coverage status.
This glossary is educational. It does not describe the intended use, performance or regulatory status of any specific product, and it is not medical advice. Product-specific information is published only with an official manufacturer source and a last-verified date.
